ELLIOTT ERWITT
The Federico II Foundation brings the works of Elliott Erwitt to Sicily for the first time — one of the greatest photographers in history.
From dogs to human beings, from ordinary people to legendary figures such as Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Muhammad Ali and many others, Erwitt’s photographs have become true icons of our society.
The exhibition is of exceptional quality: the curatorial team has selected a previously unseen collection featuring some of the most iconic and meaningful images from the Maestro’s vast body of work. On display are the series ICONS, Kolor, Family, and Self Portrait — 190 works in total, including 110 photographs exhibited and over 80 presented in an HD video projection. The exhibition is organized by the Federico II Foundation under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Consulate General of the United States in Naples. A special focus is also placed on social inclusion: four individuals with disabilities have been hired on seasonal contracts to help manage the large number of visitors expected for the exhibition.
