MICHELANGELO: A SPECIAL AURA

We express our great satisfaction for this event, which will give further impetus to tourist flows and to the economic and social development of the region, factors that, in recent years, have shown an exponential increase in visitors to the Royal Palace of Palermo. We believe that the exhibition will further establish the Federico II Foundation at the heart of Sicily’s cultural policies, making our region an essential destination of historical and artistic significance. Our ability to develop projects of the highest quality, with great efficiency and careful attention to optimizing the costs of each cultural initiative, distinguishes us in creating sustainable and successful projects with a strong media impact. These achievements are the result of considerable teamwork, with targeted actions aimed at capitalizing on our know-how each time, allowing the Foundation to grow as an increasingly cutting-edge cultural hub.

Bringing to our island a major work by Michelangelo represents an epoch-making moment that fills us with pride and gratitude toward all those who contributed to this achievement: first and foremost, the Monastery of Bassano Romano and its Prior, the Superintendency for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Province of Viterbo and Southern Etruria, the Ministry of Culture, and the Vatican, who immediately offered their full support, enthusiasm, and collaboration for the project. The Royal Apartments and the thousands of visitors will be enriched by the luminous substance, plastic and spiritual, of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, which will find here the warmest of welcomes.
